WELCOME... WE ARE BRAVE
Supporting and empowering survivors of sexual assault
WE ARE BRAVE
Building Resilience Against Vulnerable Experiences
Based in Hawke’s Bay, we have over a decade of experience assisting young women as they heal from sexual harm.
We offer a safe environment, compassionate and professional care, connection with a community of survivors, and skills and knowledge to help build resilience and wellbeing.
THE BRAVE TEAM
Our team of qualified, experienced social workers, counsellors and youth workers are passionate about helping young survivors of sexual trauma. We draw on a network of survivors, specialists and educators to inspire and enable young women to heal and strengthen after sexual harm.
THE BRAVE APPROACH
At BRAVE, we help survivors by building their resilience, promoting their wellbeing and encouraging them to fulfil their potential.
Our services include therapeutic and educational retreats, regular activities and workshops, ongoing support from the BRAVE community, and access to ACC social work and counselling services.

THEY ARE BRAVE
“When I was first invited to BRAVE, I was in the darkest place of my life. I was extremely closed off and unwilling to do anything, especially meet new people… Once I got past that, I gained an entirely new perspective. I had interests and hobbies again, I had gained more confidence in myself, I made new relationships with people who understood me.” - Sky
